Vegan cupcakes? Yes please!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love cupcakes. I mean, I have one tattooed on my arm. C'mon now! The tricky thing about cupcakes is that so many of them are made with milk and eggs which are things that I don't consume. (what with being a good vegan and all.) That is why I am so excited that Pink Sugar Cupcakery is now located conveniently downtown. (They just moved from Fernwood which wasn't convenient for this Langford dweller) After trying a sample pack yesterday with Michelle I feel completely comfortable endorsing Pink Sugar as one of my new favourite things.

How cute is that box? Now for a couple photos of Michelle enjoying "The Dirty Blonde", vanilla cake with chocolate "butter"cream.

Looks good right? I wish I could tell you which flavour was the best but that would be like asking a mother to pick her favourite child. (I mean, not my mother...I'm obviously her favourite. But a mother who's children are all cute and sweet. I guess the metaphor also falls apart when you take into account that I didn't make them but my point is they were all delicious!) Short story long, if you're in Victoria, please go down and support Pink Sugar and let's keep make this place successful so that I can always have cupcakes whenever I want them.

Lucky & Pretty.

Last night I fell asleep with my contacts in and my eyes want to murder me today. It has not been fun. Luckily I found a poem by Danielle that made me happy. It was inspired by a moment in which she and I were laying in the back of a little red pick-up truck some past summer. I made part of it into a werd foto.

lucky & pretty

"We spend too much time telling ourselves that we will never be as lucky or as pretty as we are right now. I promise you you're going to go home, fall asleep and fall in love all over again. You ask me where you've heard that before and I say I'm sure I dreamt it." --Danielle Ayotte.

Deer, daisies and skeletons.

Here is some stuff I saw today. Enjoy.

DSC06848
There are so often deer in the golf course near my house but it still excites me everytime I see them. These two I saw as we were driving past on the bus. They crossed the road and I was feeling pretty nervous for them but they did ok and the drivers were very patient with them.

Hey, this is a skeleton guy. I like him. Cool.

DSC06854
Daisies always make me smile.

This cute little moped lives in Danielle's yard.

This is Danielle. She is beautiful inside and out. That's it so far for the day! See you soon.

Know Your Imposters.

This is the first piece of original artwork I've purchased and I am so happy with it. My friend Caitlin had it displayed in a "Youth Group of Seven" exhibit and I was more than happy to support her amazing talent. Can't wait to see what she does in the future as she is just graduating high school now. Now I feel like the rest of my decor needs to step up its game to keep up.
